Small hands discover large leaves of edible, healthy goodness.

Edible plants were surely designed to attract humans. Well, most of them anyway!

Growing your own edibles is not just about eating fresh, healthy food. Growing your own offers layers of experience both short-term and long.

This beautiful Swiss Chard graced our garden for weeks as it grew larger and larger. The visual appeal was tremendous. Then one day it caught the eye of a passerby, a 1st grader no less. She peeked over the fence and said, “Daddy, that is the most beautiful leaf I have ever seen!” After further inspection she requested the chance to pick it like only a 1st grader could, “I sure would like to see what it tastes like.”

Our experiences from just one leaf were very cool indeed. Planting a seed, caring for it, watching it grow, enjoying the beauty, teaching our children, slowing down to enjoy the moment and of course…eating the most delicious and fresh Swiss Chard ever!
